A number of the resins in our product portfolio at Asahi Kasei Plastics carry the Underwriters Laboratories^® certification.  The UL designation on our products indicates that representative samples have been evaluated and tested to meet UL requirements.

UL tests a wide variety of performance criteria that may include the determination of material flammability (burning characteristics), ignition characteristics from various thermal and electrical sources, electrical tracking and other electrical characteristics, physical and mechanical characteristics, as well as analytical tests.  The effect of long-term exposure to elevated temperature (air-oven aging), water, ultraviolet light, cold, etc. on property-retention may also be evaluated.

Underwriter Laboratories® is a trusted, independent, product safety certification organization that has been testing products and writing standards for over 100 years.
